About ReceiptForge
ReceiptForge makes free, private receipt and invoice generators for people who’d rather run their business than fight with paperwork.
Why I built it
I’m Jahangir Badar. Over years of freelancing and running small online projects, I needed receipts and invoices all the time: for clients, for a rental, for small sales. Every tool I tried had a catch. Some hid the download behind a sign-up form. Some stamped a watermark across the receipt unless you paid. Others asked you to upload customer details to their servers just to make a one-page document.
So I built the tool I wanted: open the page, fill in the details, download a clean receipt. No account, no watermark, no catch.
How ReceiptForge works
Every generator on this site runs entirely in your web browser. When you type a customer’s name or an amount, it’s processed on your own device to draw the preview and create the download. It isn’t sent to us, and we can’t see it. Your draft is saved in your browser’s local storage so it survives a refresh; clearing it is one click (βStart overβ).
The receipts follow the same principles you’d expect from an accountant: a unique receipt number, the date of payment, itemized lines, tax shown separately, the payment method, and a signature line where it matters. We explain the reasoning on each page, with links to sources like the IRS where rules are involved.
What we stand for
- Free means free. Every generator, style and download format, with no paid tier hiding the good version.
- Private by design. Your business and customer data stays on your device.
- Honest receipts. ReceiptForge is for documenting real transactions you were part of. It doesn’t copy other companies’ receipts, and we don’t help anyone fake a purchase.
- Plain English. No jargon, no keyword-stuffed filler. Just clear answers to real questions.
A note on legal and tax questions
We write our guides carefully and link to official sources, but ReceiptForge is a document tool, not an accounting or law firm. Rules differ between countries, states and cities, so for anything official, such as an audit or a dispute, check with a qualified accountant, lawyer or your local tax authority.
